FORMAL-FUNCTIONAL INTERPRETATION OF ONE-MEMBER SENTENCES IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH

Abstract

One-member and two member sentences as types of simple sentences studied from the point of view of traditional interpretation in Uzbek linguistics and there are many scientific research works devoted to identification of their specific features. In this article, one-member sentences considered from the point of view of formal-functional linguistics. According to formal-functional interpretation of one-member sentences created sentence model. One-member sentences in English and one-member sentences in Uzbek studied in comparative aspect through which have been identified their specific peculiarities. The author analyzed scientific works and ideas of Uzbek scientists concerning one-member sentence and two-member sentences, expressed her own considerations. Relying on the Uzbek scientists’ considerations, their sentence models analyzed and created one-member sentence models based on simple one-member sentences. Moreover, the author analyzed English scientists’ opinions concerning one-member sentences in English. Analysis of on-member sentences in the construction of complex sentences considered in this article too, in addition specific features in comparing languages and their models highlighted in it. The author expressed her opinion concerning ideas on two-member sentences in the construction of complex sentences.
