LINGUISTIC METROLOGY AS ONE OF THE NEW DIRECTIONS OF MODERN LINGUISTICS

Abstract

Linguistic metrology is one of the modern and relevant directions of linguistics that combines mathematics, linguistics, psychology, metrology and ethno linguistics. Although linguistic metrology is currently interpreted as one of the new directions, it also has a long past. In particular, in ancient times, instead of measuring units, parts of the human body were used to express distance. Through this, we can know that it has a long history and that the need for linguistic analysis of metrological units through examples of folklore is important for the development of linguistics.
