FROM THE HISTORY OF BUDDHISM IN THAILAND
Abstract
The article examines the history of the spread of Buddhism in Thailand. During their long history of existence, the Thais to have been predominantly Buddhist, at least since they came into contact with the tenets of Buddhism. Over the centuries, Buddhism has established itself in Thailand and enriched the life of Thais in all its aspects. Indeed, without Buddhism, Thailand would not be what it is today. All Thai kings in the history of modern Thailand were adherents of Buddhism. The Constitution of the country states that the King of Thailand must be a Buddhist and a supporter of Buddhism.
