HISTORY OF TURKESTAN INTERNAL AFFAIRS BODY (1917-1924)
Abstract
In 1917-1924, the activities of internal affairs bodies in Turkestan included complex and changing processes. During this period, the internal affairs system was associated with the Russian Revolution, Bolshevik rule and the establishment of the Soviet state, and had a great impact on the local social and political environment. After the collapse of the Russian Empire in February 1917, a provisional government was established in Turkestan. During this period, the activities of the internal affairs bodies were adapted to the new conditions.
When the Bolsheviks took power in October 1917, reforms began in the internal affairs bodies. The Cheka (secret police) was established, which played an important role in suppressing political opposition and maintaining revolutionary order. Local police and other internal affairs bodies continued to function, but they had to adapt to the changes of the Soviet system. Internal affairs bodies worked to prevent crime, maintain order and ensure social security. By studying and monitoring the socio-economic situation of the local population, the internal affairs bodies helped in the implementation of the state policy. The activities of the internal affairs bodies affected the socio-economic life.
They served to maintain social stability and implement state policy. The repressive nature of the internal affairs system had a negative impact on local politics and social life in the future. In general, the activities of internal affairs bodies in Turkestan in 1917-1924 are characterized by complex and changing processes, which caused significant changes in the social, political and economic environment.
