CLINICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PATIENTS WITH METABOLIC SYNDROME

Abstract

Of all non-infectious diseases, cardiovascular pathology is one of the most common causes of death: thus, according to analytical data presented in 2015 by experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), their contribution to mortality worldwide was more than 30 % (1.2). Factors influencing an increase in the risk of developing diseases of the cardiovascular system are arterial hypertension, abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia and insulin resistance, which contribute to the progression of atherogenic vascular damage (3,4).
